Life, Personal

January Recap

I have gotten a lot of blog ideas listed in my cutesy little notepad but the some circumstances do not allow them to materialise. Major culprit? My laptop. I have to recover first my blog files in my external hard drive because apparently it isn’t MAC compatible. Well, that’s my problem and I’m going to get it done in the next two weeks.

1

I actually don’t believe in signs or apparitions but the early weeks of January hit me real hard that made me think “Oh man… 2016’s gonna be an unfortunate year for me.” Let me share the unimportant news that I spent New Year’s Eve in my room while watching Scandal and blowing my stuffy nose as if my it’s part of the firework mess happening at that moment. To make things more interesting, I was all alone in the house. Apparently, the family went to the grandparent’s abode and I have zero energy to come.

I was sick and nearly dead for two weeks. The mucus coming out from my nose and mouth (because I was coughing really hard too) was really unusual in colour, sometimes with blood. I was so close to checking with the doctor but my condition got better along the way.

A week immediately after going back to 100%, I decided not to be a “lolo” and join some friends for a night out. I got drunk, drove the motorcycle home, and went home with blood in my arms, knees, and chin. As of the moment, my wounds have finally healed but these big scars will forever be chiseled in my skin.

2

I always find time to go out with the family every time I have my rest days and there’s no better way to catch up over good food. This month’s yummy finds were Santouka’s ramen and katsu set and fresh pasta dishes from a pasta place in Solenad 3. Lol, I’ll have to work on my memory but that place is pretty on point.

On the other food news, I have an intense craving for cereals. The past week, I have been eating it with soy milk or almond milk for breakfast.

3

I had my first consumption using my own salary. I finally bought a Macbook after doing research online and asking friends for recommendations. I was contemplating on getting one since my work do not require an extra personal computer because the company has provided us our own station PCs. But most of the time, I have to do some personal work (including blog work) and some other things that I can’t do in my phone feel better if  I use a laptop like…

  • Netflix
  • Torrent
  • iTunes and Spotify
  • Reading fics

Did you get my logic? Me too, I don’t get it.

Lately, I have been watching on Netflix, mostly food documentaries. As much as I want to spazz over NetflixPH, I guess they still have to up their catalogue. For now, I gotta Torrent and Chill. lol

I bought my dog some fancy collar. *u*

Adieu January. To February. :)

The Sunday Currently Vol. 18

I woke up to a gloomy Sunday morning with the thought that it wasn’t past 8 yet because I have fully committed to myself the night before that I am going to attend the 9 AM mass in the nearby church.

Tick tock. 09:15, I’m obviously late and I’m not going to make it.

I helped myself by grabbing a bowl of cereals and waiting for them to get soggy in soymilk. I slurped into my food while watching The Little Death recommended by Maine.

An hour and half later, I get dressed and stopped by the bank to get some cash, went to church to say some prayers, ate Jollibee for lunch, and finally settled at a small coffee shop (featured image) by the road. As of this writing, I have less than three hours before my shift at work starts.

I was originally planning to get the work done on my books that were left unread in the past 2 years but some fanfics roadblocked me along the way. So currently, I’m reading a fic called Nobody Shines The Way You Do. This is my third and I’m on a roll. cc: @Mary

This coffee shop is so hushed all I can listen to is the water dripping from their leaked faucet.

Don’t even get me started because I’ve been thinking of some silly boyband member since last night.

I’m smelling the aroma of my peach tea and how I wish I have someone, even a stranger, to share this cuppa.

I’m high key hoping for something personal that, in all time, it is nothing serious. I am actually praying that it gets away.

Truth be told, I’m loving the sort of flexible work schedule that I have. I have to find time plotting weekend (or rest day) getaways though. I’d really want to spend some “me” time somewhere private and unpeopled.

I’m clicking on this Buzzfeed article and I want you to click on this too (and read it of course).

The Sunday Currently Vol. 17

Let’s pretend that I wasn’t MIA for almost a year. I can’t even fathom how I’ll explain the very very long hiatus that I took. Nonetheless, I still renewed the domain because I can’t afford to lose all the content I was able to put up the past year. Likewise, I know that along the way I’ll be needing an outlet to pour everything out that’s why there’s no other choice than keeping this blog in. :)

In an unpopular news, I am now employed! Hit the 3-month mark already!!!

  • reading some Asian food recipes that I intend to remake once I get home tomorrow. I’ll be whipping up the gochujang (Korean hot pepper sauce) that I bought the other week at town. Maybe a big bowl of bibimbap? YAS!
  • writing , actually re-writing the notes I took down from work because I intend to be better on my job this year. WHAT CHESTER IS THAT YOU????
  • listening  to Hold On, We’re Going Home by Drake (Spotify is on shuffle. A while ago it was the entire One Direction discography playing. lol)
  • thinking what I’ll be missing in the next days. My family’s heading up to Baguio for a couple of days and I can’t even join them because…. work.
  • smelling nothing. I’ve been nursing a terrible cough and colds for a week now.
  • wishing I could get more vacation days? Is that possible?
  • hoping this terrible combo of cough and colds will go away.
  • wearing my big shirt and shorts because OMG I GAINED SO MUCH WEIGHT.
  • loving my new laptop which I acquired through my own money. This is my first ever purchase using my hard earned salary. It feels so good!
  • wanting to get my laptop a decent case and a screen protector.
  • needing a haircut. Also, I need to get well soon.
  • feeling a little bit better than the past few days. But I gotta get back to 100% asap. :(
  • clicking through my facebook and twitter feed.

How ya’ll doin’? :)
