January Recap

IMG_8697 copy

I have gotten a lot of blog ideas listed in my cutesy little notepad but the some circumstances do not allow them to materialise. Major culprit? My laptop. I have to recover first my blog files in my external hard drive because apparently it isn’t MAC compatible. Well, that’s my problem and I’m going to get it done in the next two weeks.

1

I actually don’t believe in signs or apparitions but the early weeks of January hit me real hard that made me think “Oh man… 2016’s gonna be an unfortunate year for me.” Let me share the unimportant news that I spent New Year’s Eve in my room while watching Scandal and blowing my stuffy nose as if my it’s part of the firework mess happening at that moment. To make things more interesting, I was all alone in the house. Apparently, the family went to the grandparent’s abode and I have zero energy to come.

I was sick and nearly dead for two weeks. The mucus coming out from my nose and mouth (because I was coughing really hard too) was really unusual in colour, sometimes with blood. I was so close to checking with the doctor but my condition got better along the way.

A week immediately after going back to 100%, I decided not to be a “lolo” and join some friends for a night out. I got drunk, drove the motorcycle home, and went home with blood in my arms, knees, and chin. As of the moment, my wounds have finally healed but these big scars will forever be chiseled in my skin.

2

I always find time to go out with the family every time I have my rest days and there’s no better way to catch up over good food. This month’s yummy finds were Santouka’s ramen and katsu set and fresh pasta dishes from a pasta place in Solenad 3. Lol, I’ll have to work on my memory but that place is pretty on point.

On the other food news, I have an intense craving for cereals. The past week, I have been eating it with soy milk or almond milk for breakfast.

3

I had my first consumption using my own salary. I finally bought a Macbook after doing research online and asking friends for recommendations. I was contemplating on getting one since my work do not require an extra personal computer because the company has provided us our own station PCs. But most of the time, I have to do some personal work (including blog work) and some other things that I can’t do in my phone feel better if  I use a laptop like…

  • Netflix
  • Torrent
  • iTunes and Spotify
  • Reading fics

Did you get my logic? Me too, I don’t get it.

Lately, I have been watching on Netflix, mostly food documentaries. As much as I want to spazz over NetflixPH, I guess they still have to up their catalogue. For now, I gotta Torrent and Chill. lol

I bought my dog some fancy collar. *u*

Adieu January. To February. :)

In the Mail: Purchases & Blog Gifts

In the past month, I have received constant weekly knocks from the postman handing me a packaged good which I had expected in some way. I have joined several blog giveaways and purchased an item or two from the internet which explains the sudden coming of goodies that rarely happen to me.

head
(1) A Sidlan bag. (2) The Best Place to be Today book from Lonely Planet. (3) A Vegan Starter Kit from Peta. (4) A Forever 21 gift certificate.

sidlan I bought this multipurpose bag because I thought it would be perfect for the family’s beach getaway this weekend. I’m crossing my fingers too that I get to use this in Wanderland on April 25.

I really love that Sidlan is a sand repellant and quick dry mat that could be curled up and be transformed into a sling bag right away. You can reach Sidlan through their Facebook page.

lp Thanks to Maine for sending me over this Lonely Planet book which I won through her giveaway. The Best Place to be Today book lists down the perfect things to do every day for the whole year. Take for example today, April 04, 2015, this book suggests to Watch sea otters in USA because it’s the perfect weather for otter pup sightings in the California coastline. Also, I have written down my favorite items and I plan to share them in a separate post.

Likewise, if you want a more severe case of wanderlust, then this book shall be your drug too.

peta I ordered the Vegan Starter Kit over a month ago to help me through my 30-Day Vegan Challenge. It’s a short-length pamphlet which tackles the top and sensible reasons to go 100% vegan. There’s also a portion where it shows celebrities that went vegan, as well as restaurants in the Philippines that offer vegan options to help you through a possible change of lifestyle. You can order the starter kit through PETA’s website for free.

f21Lastly, this Forever 21 gift certificate was from Jae which I won through another giveaway. Lol. I have yet to use it but as soon as I get back to Manila, I’d do my first ever F21 purchase.

Happy Easter everyone! I hope we all have some good times by the beach, on top of the mountain, or wherever you plan to.

A Weight Loss Journey (+ Personal Tips)

A couple of weeks ago, I finally had the guts to write up a story I thought I’d never share. I have drafted this post long ago and finally hit it up to The Fat Kid Inside without telling anyone. I realized that it went live on Erwan’s blog when people started sending me “congratulations” messages on facebook.

Anyways, here are some of my “before” photos that show how big and unhealthy I was.

Let me share some things I did and things I still continue to do right now to lose weight, motivate myself, and redeem my self conifdence. Remember that these are personal experiences that I’m listing as “tips”  though what may have worked for me doesn’t necessarily mean will work for you 100%. Consider them as guide and not your sole basis to starting a new lifestyle.
