Getting To Know You & Me, Prompts

Getting To Know You & Me Vol. 01

I came upon Camie’s post of GTKY&M on her blog and it’s coincidental that I’m in the mood to answer questions so might as well do it anyway.  The questions I’ll be answering (and you’ll be answering too, that’s if you want to lol) are originally from Camie’s which you can find on her blog. 🙂

  1. Are you sunrise, daylight, twilight, or night? Please share why you picked your time of day?
  2. What is one goal you’d like to accomplish in your lifetime?
  3. If you could meet any historical figure, who would you choose and why?
  4. You’ve discovered a time machine. Where and when would you travel to?
  5. If your life had a slogan, what would it say?

My Answers:

  1. I like the sunrise more than anything else. As much as I want to hit the snooze button in the morning, I would totally drag my ass off my bed and see the sunrise instead. I really like the sense of hope and beginning that sunrise brings. Everytime the dawn breaks the horizon, it knocks you off that there will be another day of hoping and dreaming.
  2. Wow. It actually took me a couple of minutes of thinking before I could give an honest answer about this. It’s indefinite but my answer is, I don’t know. I really and seriously don’t know. But hey, I’m not afraid. I’m in that stage where I’m still figuring things out, what to do with my life or where it is heading. I still don’t know in the moment but soon enough, there will be a goal that I’ll be eyeing on.
  3. The first person who came to my mind is Adolf Hitler. I don’t know much about him aside from the fact that he’s the infamous Nazi Leader and a German Dictator and Chancellor. I would love to know his other side of being non-ruthless because I am sure there is. I have read before that he’s also a prolific writer and artist besides his exceptional leadership skills.
  4. I’m not going far. It would definitely be 70’s-80’s, Manila. Fashion, music, lifestyle. Everything about this era is what I’m obsessing with for the longest time. I have been seeing photos on social media on how Manila looked like before post modernization and I swear I would not think twice of settling on that once beautiful city. It was once a beautiful city because right now Manila is… eeew.
  5. “Cultivate the habit of being grateful.” Just because this world will never run out of things to be thankful for. 🙂

I had fun answering these random questions so I might do this on the blog more often. You guys can answer the questions too at the comments section or post them on your own blogs.

P.S. Thank you Camie for sending some of your Wildlings over my blog. Bloglovin’ realness is happening! <3

Sunrises are beautiful, but I think I’m more of a sunset person. It’s like watching a fire sometimes, the night time colours are so beautiful. Where I live, most sunrises are just…grey. You make them sound so much nicer though – speaking of the hope attached to each new day!
That’s a good quote / slogan! It’s one I’ll remember and try to adhere too, sometimes I worry I’m taking things for granted too much!

this is a great set of questions.. would love to go back to 70-80’s Manila too and see how developed and vibrant the city was.

GUUUUURL, I love your answers!!! I realized at the end of reading them, I had a smile on my face.

We have the same sentiment when it comes to sunrise. Sunrise = hope. Always. It feels like a clean slate, the way night covers the past, and then the sun shines and it feels all new again.

Here’s a secret: I also don’t know all my goals, I just know the ones I want to accomplish now. You don’t need to have one SURE answer, and a lot of somewhat/sort of goals is definitely better than just one sure goal — it means you’re adaptable, flexible and open to change 😉

I also wanted to answer Adolf Hitler, but then again, I would probably just get so pissed. I feel like I’ve judged him enough based on everything I’ve read and all the documentaries I’ve seen about him — that is, a frustrated artist who is desperate to be loved and liked, hence the racism and need to eliminate a race he feels is inferior to his. Basically, he’s projecting his issues onto the Jews and want to punish them for it. HAHA

“Cultivate the habit of being grateful.” YAS YAS A THOUSAND TIMES YAS! If anything, I think being grateful is one of the most important things to have in your life, aside from knowing to be kind and compassionate.

Thanks Camie!!! Right? We all have that goal, short term goals as they may be, but a one lifetime goal? I think we’re not quite sure about that yet! 🙂

First of all, kudos to you! It takes guts to admit that you ‘DONT KNOW’ something and I’m here to tell you its okay. Being in a state of transition is normal and all of us experience it. I know you’ll figure it out soon. 😉

I like that kind of questions in blog posts too. And I like that somebody actually answers “I don’t know” to one of them. Sometimes I get the impression that people want to seem so perfect and have to be able to have an answer to everything.
That question about meeting a historical person has always been hard for me. The “should” reply for a Christian would probably be Jesus, but like, don’t I meet him when I pray or read the Bible? Nowadays I usually say Doc Watson because his finger-picking guitar style was, and is, KING, and I’d like to learn it. Really, I would like to meet Norman Blake, because he’s my great guru in guitar playing, but he isn’t dead yet, so I guess that makes him not a historical person. 🙂
